Cell phones - means to not end?

"What is the most important living organism on Earth?" I was once asked....
I answered - "Well, I suppose everything leans on the existence of everything else so nothing can really be 'the most important'..."
I got a laugh out of that, and was told I think to literally (what ever that means)
I was then asked "What is the most important insect on Earth?"
At this stage I wanted to answer - 42 (Which if you've read the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy you would know is the answer to life the universe and everything) but instead I answered:
"Ants - they clean everything up and make up most of the insect population.." again another chuckle
"Ants are mindless greedy buggers that collect food to feed the queen, they are far from the most important, dispute their importance..."  there was a dramatic pause, the gaze shifted out the window
"The correct answer would be Bees..."
"Bees? But they're also self absorbed bastards only interested in following the queens orders" I said...
"Ah yes - but now, now you're not thinking literally enough..."
Puzzled I asked "Well why then?"
"Bees... pollinate plants and without pollination they cannot reproduce and without plants - all living organisms will perish..."

It's true - such small insects have such a massive impact on society - on the way we live... I was shocked to read an article on how cell phone frequency interferes with bees making them disorientated.
Nearly everyone has a cell phone (if not two) and everyone generally has more than three cell phones in a life time.
It's terribly scary to imagen Bees becoming extinct...

To me it seems Cell-phones are a nuisance, they've been proven to have harmful effects on the human body and the environment on numerous levels, but is that because they are targeted in terms of research? If so what technology that we use that isn't targeted for research has similar or worse effects? Microwaves? Wi-Fi?
How much don't we know and how much will we discover? Development is great, I love technology - but it seems to be going in the wrong direction. We need to combine green design and efficiency into all our technology.
Heck - maybe one-day we'll all phone each other using Wi-Fi ...

Study Procrastination

Yea Yea... It's not a good thing but hey if you're reading this during exams - you're doing it too...
I'm just saying... just putting out there...

So I thought you guys could do with some funny cartoons and pictures (to lift the exam stress a bit - you know I'm just that kind)

... And if your parents come in while you're browsing, you can always claim you're studying maths, because that's what I was doing when I found all of these.

Pythagorus....

Sometimes I wish that People like Rene decartes (The straight Line graph) and Mr Pythagorus (A squared + B squared = C squared) didn't have such great ideas - just so that I wouldn't have to be so confused in the exam.... But then again Where would we be without the straight line graph? Pi or any of the other mathematical break-throughs?

For those of you still learning - Pi is an irrational number ;)

My maths teacher says Pi is pronounced Pi and not Pie... I tend to like 'Pie' as the pronunciation - it makes me think about lunch - mmmmm....

Sometimes I feel like the two on the right...

This is why we go to school and learn...
(Yea - we so go to school in case we land up on an abandoned island!)

Our dogs are like this... Always and especially during exams :P

I hope none of you are like this...

Okay - so to all of you writing exams - Good luck...
I write EMS (economic management sciences) tomorrow, which for all our foreign views is a mixture of accounting and business (neither of which I will be taking next year - thank goodness!)

And to all of you that aren't writing - well hope you had a good laugh... and good luck for when you do...

To all those procrastinating - rock on!
You're awesome!
(But seriously - it's not gonna go away, let's both go and do what we're supposed to)

Exit stage Left

According to parents:
We're too young for love, too old for "fun", too smart to play dumb and too immature for "grown up" conversations...
So it's no wonder teens are so rebellious. There's simply nothing else to do!!!

And so when Rebellion just isn't an option anymore, we turn to the Internet, to technology, to little distractions that act as a rebellion...

Forum there is no clear cut solution to this problem - it's true, in the day of today we grow up far too fast, I mean when was the last time you played hide and go seek? the last time you played tag or even lay under the starts at night?
What happened to the days when we camped in the back garden, braaied marshmallows and explored the world outside the clinging grip of the ever potent technology?

I personally can't remember, and maybe the solution is well quite simply to relax a little... Stop working all day everyday and take a break. Make work something you want to do - not have to do. Lively it up a bit, smile and start a conversation with someone new.
Come on! Tell Facebook and YouTube that you don't need to visit them daily (or even hourly) for lengthily periods - In-fact I bet none of you can stay off the Internet for more than week

We need to relax, smile and enjoy life - otherwise, what is the point of living?
In my opinion we may as well exit stage left if live is just one big drone...
