The origin of Halloween!!

It all started with a man called Daniel Maclise, showing a Halloween Party in Ireland 1832, so as you can see, it is a quite an old activity. The ancient Celts believed that the border between our world and the ‘’Otherworld’’ became thin on Samhain allowing spirits (harmless and harmful) to pass through. The family’s ancestors were honoured and invited home while harmful spirits were awarded off. They believed that to ward off harmful spirits they’d wear costumes and masks. The reason was to disguise themselves as a harmful spirit to avoid harm. In Scotland the spirits were impersonated by young men dressed in white with masked, veiled or blackened faces. It was also a  time to take stock of food supplies and slaughter livestock for winter stores. The bones of slaughtered livestock were cast into its flames. And from there, people started trick-or-treat, specially children, disguised in costumes an masks, asking for candy or even sometimes money. Some of the countries where people celebrate Halloween are: Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, England, Japan and France.

Exit stage Left

According to parents:
We're too young for love, too old for "fun", too smart to play dumb and too immature for "grown up" conversations...
So it's no wonder teens are so rebellious. There's simply nothing else to do!!!

And so when Rebellion just isn't an option anymore, we turn to the Internet, to technology, to little distractions that act as a rebellion...

Forum there is no clear cut solution to this problem - it's true, in the day of today we grow up far too fast, I mean when was the last time you played hide and go seek? the last time you played tag or even lay under the starts at night?
What happened to the days when we camped in the back garden, braaied marshmallows and explored the world outside the clinging grip of the ever potent technology?

I personally can't remember, and maybe the solution is well quite simply to relax a little... Stop working all day everyday and take a break. Make work something you want to do - not have to do. Lively it up a bit, smile and start a conversation with someone new.
Come on! Tell Facebook and YouTube that you don't need to visit them daily (or even hourly) for lengthily periods - In-fact I bet none of you can stay off the Internet for more than week

We need to relax, smile and enjoy life - otherwise, what is the point of living?
In my opinion we may as well exit stage left if live is just one big drone...

Blogging just isn't all that easy - sure set up a blog, think you're all cool and give it a Facebook page... but honestly the first step to blogging is to find a topic to write about...

If there's anything you'd like us to research and write about - dam you guys already know where to find my email details! (In the side bar) or tell us on Facebook...

"Take me to your leader…."

We’ve all seen the typical Hollywood movies (or at least heard of them) Where the little green figure walks out their flying saucer surrounded by a mystifying fog and approach the shocked yet stunned humans, only to say “Take me to your leader”.
The question is – who is our leader?

Some say Obama, others say the Pope – but really?  Would they be able to make a good representation of our planet?
Why should Americas' president be Earths leader? Are the other 5 veto powers not equally as powerful and developed?
And why the pope? Are all religions not equal?
If an alien race were to land on Earth with a goal of wiping out all useless disorganized planets, would we not appear somewhat disorganized?
But who cares what the aliens think. I mean sure if they're going to blow the planet to bits I'd want to know, but the thing is, if an alien landed quietly and sought out the wrong type of human....

It'd be sold to researchers and dissected before the public could even get the slightest glimpse of the life form... For all we know - Aliens could have landed way back in the 1950s resulting in our first probes being sent to space...

If the aliens were to land (Because honestly it'll happen one day - what with a galaxy as huge as ours, there has to be life out there) it'd either result in mass hysteria when coming into conflict with science and religion, politics and well politics or we'd finally make peace (very unhuman like, what with our ways of war and corruption) and join a more civilized race...

A friend of mine once said - If he ever met an alien, he'd try and communicate with it....
And that ladies and gentlemen is the right attitude to have

"Oops! There goes Earth...."
