YouTube - Broadcast yourself

Created in February 2005, this revolutionary site has changed the way we share footage forever.

But then again you all probably knew that (Because like Google and Facebook, YouTube is one of the most popular websites on the Internet)

YouTube uses Adobe Flash Video technology and allows users to upload video files of numerous formats. The site consists of multiple Vlogs (video blogs), music videos, TV shows and multiple media clips. The site is user friendly and free to use.

Of course because it's free anyone can upload anything and many people upload nonsense or terrible quality footage. When one searches on youtube there is no 'safe search' per-say and therefore one must be responsible and careful when searching...

But then again the flip side of that is that there is a lot of good in youtube. One can find research in the form of documentaries and studies or entertainment in the form of multiple vlogs and clips.

One of the commonly asked questions is how one can save a video off YouTube - well the answers easy but slightly illegal...
Generally if you wish to use a video for commercial use without the permission of the creator is illegal, if however you wish to keep the video to watch on your phone, ipod, PSP etc then it is perfectly legal.

One can download you tube videos using a multitude of free of the self products. Some require downloading onto your computer whilst the more efficient and free products can be found on numerous sites such as SaveVid and KeepVid

To really take full advantage of YouTube one should sign into the site and create an account. Once users have done this, they can comment on videos, upload videos and subscribe to numerous other users video blogs.

You can check out our first video on our video blog at YouTube by following the link in the side bar or by clicking on the link below.....

FaCeBoOk!

Well, since one of our latest post was about Skype, I figured since we have our own page on facebook, I will do it on FACEBOOK!
And no, this is NOT Facebook!

Facebook is a social network service and website launched in February 2004 that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, As of July 2010 Facebook has more than 500 million active users!! Users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common interest user groups, organized by workplace, school, or college, or other characteristics. The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by university administrations in the US with the intention of helping students to get to know each other better.
Facebook allows anyone who declares themselves to be at least 13 years old to become a registered user of the website.
A January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as the most used social network by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace. Entertainment Weekly put it on its end-of-the-decade "best-of" list, saying, "How on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our co-workers' birthdays, bug our friends, and play a rousing game of Scrabulous before Facebook?" Quantcast estimates Facebook has 135.1 million monthly unique U.S. visitors.

Facebook really is a great way of speaking with your friends and family, weather they sitting online on the computer in front of you (that does happen) lol or if they are on the other side of the world. You get to play awesome games, and catch up on the latest news of what your friends and family are up to. It is a GREAT way of communication.
